Another quick one while I do the planning bits. I’ve recently been writing about the Capture the Flag Exercise and social platforms. I sat down today to write an email autoresponder for the blog bits with the idea in mind that fifty emails would probably be enough for an autoresponder. In the past, I’ve always…
Don’t Put Your Failures In An Email List However, I’ve received several emails from people whose lists I’ve subscribed to recently. These guys; “Twitter doesn’t work anymore…” “I’m being censored on [X] platform” “My email list subscribers are dropping!” “Conversion rates are low… gonna clean up this email list!” And I feel it should go…
Who Are Your Audience And What Do They Want? I gave the game away with the subtitle, but here’s the story to go with it. I have various projects on the go. As I’m prone to overthinking, overplanning and over-reliance on developing systems, these projects tend to get more complicated in scope as time goes…
Starting A Project Stuff… Today, I laid the groundwork for starting a new, as of yet unannounced project. (Don’t worry, it ties in well with the Vault and other projects; it’s not another “to-do list thing that’ll never happen.” Probably.) As such, I’m just on the boring business admin to-do list stuff of signing up…
It’s very easy to get overwhelmed with all the different choices that come from the multi-platform environment we find ourselves in as of 2024. I’ve been planning the Vault materials, and coming up with what I call “Skeletons” for structure for the works going forward; and one thing I’ve come up with is the…
A friend of mine, who shall remain unnamed, works in sales for a tech company. Today, he asked the group chat to give his company some five-star ratings on Google, Trustpilot or something. My reaction to this information: Hold Up Here’s the thing that small hustlers and big-time companies mess up all the time….
The Real Power of A Postscript I use the postscript differently to most copywriters. Naturally, my way is better. Because let’s be honest, most copywriters you know – and if you are one, maybe read this, cringe and then forgive yourself – use the P.S. section to sell things. You’ve all read emails like this:…
Perfect Copy Let’s talk about perfect copy. It’s easy to think that you can perfect your copy. Especially when you work with the higher end clients and it’s all about beating a control or getting that conversion rate from 2% to 2.5% because that’ll generate a ton of money. And recently I worked with someone…
Ben Settle’s Secret For Writing Bullets I’ve been reading a lot of Ben Settle’s copy recently. Now, I’ll be completely honest: whenever I delve into handcopying and analysing ads, I don’t really get the copywriter at first. Ben Settle is a good example of this. In short, he writes differently to how I do. People…
My Prediction: PAIN Let’s talk about the dark side of copywriting in this article. I’m going to because nobody else does… and to be honest, nobody actually really talks about copywriting like I do anyway. So let’s talk about the dark side of copywriting. And I’m not talking about, “Oh my god you’re totally evil…
