Compendium of Giving

Let’s talk about Kindle Unlimited.

I don’t think it’s all that great for authors. But all those years ago, when I wrote that post saying you should never go in Kindle Unlimited… I was wrong.

Since I wrote that, I’ve found out about people who make a lot more money than I do using Kindle Unlimited. So much money writing books that you probably wouldn’t believe it.

Also, people using Kindle Unlimited as a means of getting people into their funnels – think of your Kindle Unlimited books as free ebooks, and go heavy inside them on getting people to subscribe in exchange for more free things.

As I said, Kindle Unlimited has its uses which I haven’t elaborated on, but that’s a topic for another day.

Today is Christmas Day, and I wish you many happy returns.

But I’ve been writing a daily topic for a week under two years solid now, and I’m not going to stop today.

So let’s talk about some free Christmas gifts for those of you who have a Kindle Unlimited subscription. (Well worth that £7.99 a month – as a writer, the benefits are debatable but as a reader, it’s a fantastic deal.)

Doberman Dan

Doberman Dan is a fairly well-known copywriter. He’s probably most popular for coming up with what he calls “Kitchen table businesses” or micro-businesses, as you’d probably think of them.

Anyway, there are a few books by him on Kindle Unlimited. They’re like extended sales letters, but have plenty of useful information:

Just Sell The Damn Thing

Supplement Marketing Secrets

Cosmopolitan Headlines

In the Gary Halbert Challenge, Gary recommends getting a list of Cosmopolitan Headlines and writing them out by hand. That way, you will become a master of writing headlines.

Luckily, some guy has compiled them all in an ebook you get for free with Kindle Unlimited. You can click that and read it here.

Writing out headlines is a big part of learning headlines. Learning headlines is a big part of being a successful blogger, content writer or copywriter.

Dan Kennedy

Dan Kennedy is a famous copywriter. Until recently, many of his books were on Kindle Unlimited. Unfortunately that’s no longer the case.

However, there is this book that’s on Kindle Unlimited. It’s a basic book about opt-ins and freebies, but it might give you some ideas.

Here it is.

Advertising Titans

I haven’t read either of these yet, but they’re on my to-do list. They consist of compiled articles from some successful copywriters and sales people.

Advertising Titans Volume One

Advertising Titans Volume Two

These have been compiled by a guy called Dan Lok, who has quite a few books that are enrolled in Kindle Unlimited.

Bob Bly

Here’s a book by Bob Bly, who has written some great material on copywriting (and more general, non-direct-response writing for a living too.)

This book consists of 85 articles from his newsletter.

It’s called Bob Bly’s Little Blue Book Of Business Wisdom.

Final Thoughts

I think I’ve given you about ten books that are available for free – or your first £7.99 payment to Amazon. In those books, you’re going to learn some stuff, get some insight and have a few profitable ideas.

Ironically, educating yourself is possibly one of the cheapest investments you can make for the best return.

So if you want to give yourself a great Christmas present (and a happy New Year) read some books (like these free ones) and by this time next year, you’ll have a great return on your investment.

Merry Christmas!
