Following on from yesterday’s post about seeking small victories, I figured I’d write three top tips for getting victories early with niche sites.
I’ll start with the sexy one, and then move onto more immediately attainable things.
This’ll be short because I’m writing this at 20:24 on Friday night and am going away for the weekend. Such is my commitment to bringing you the daily tips!
High Ticket Affiliate Programs
You should aim to get yourself on a high-ticket affiliate program with your niche sites.
This is the key to most guys who’ve succeeded in online business. They stick around long enough to wake up to their first $100+ affiliate payout.
When you experience this, you know you can make a significant amount of money in a relatively passive way.
I can’t really tell you how much this changes your attitude towards making money online and the whole business thing.
From personal experience, low ticket Amazon sales were good so far as the dopamine was concerned, but ultimately making $3.50 isn’t anything that your brain says, “Woah!”
On the other hand, I remember waking up one morning to a $149 commission from an affiliate sale. That was the first time I sold a big ticket item, and though I’d made more than that before, the fact I woke up that much richer and it was “passive” income burned my brain and I can still remember everything about it.
Low Competition Keywords
Now we’ve got the money making out of the way, let’s talk about something that people struggle with: SEO.
Now, I’ll be honest here. I hate SEO. I didn’t “get” SEO for a long time. By that, I mean that I was utterly useless.
Then someone told me, “Rank for a search term nobody cares about.”
And so I found a search term that about ten people a month searched for. It had six exact phrase results in Google.
And I ranked number one for it with a single article.
Then I found another that had about thirty visitors a month and about thirty results.
And even now, if I find a search term that has a few dozen results a month and less than a thousand competing pages, I’ll jump on it.
If you take this approach, you won’t get a million visitors to your site. But you’ll understand competition better, you’ll understand how SEO works and you’ll know that you can do it.
This is an easy victory in an area people struggle with.
Set Up Your Gosh Darned Website Already
The biggest determinant of niche site success bar none is actually getting your website up.
I say this as a current hypocrite. I got halfway through building a niche site a couple of weeks back and then side-tracked.
But I am also a good example for you all: A niche site that doesn’t exist is a niche site that isn’t an easy victory.
ANYONE competing with me in that niche right now is having an easy time because I haven’t put the website up.
And let’s face it… most of you who read these articles are probably in the same boat.
Get your website published… it’s an easy, early victory. 99% of people won’t.
Final Thoughts
These are just a couple of ideas for getting victories early on with niche sites.
Like I say, quick article today because I’m away right now.
