The Power Of Themes
Let’s take a detour from the business type posts and rants.
Here’s something that’ll take me about five minutes to write and you a long time to implement into stuff.
When it comes to products, content, sales, etc. you need to think about stuff that decreases your need for mental output and reduces it to an automatic or low-attention task.
So let’s talk about themes.
These extend to all of my business interests.
Whether it’s website categories, fictional settings, motifs or just stuff to chat about – you want to collect themes for topics.
Let me give you some examples:
Some Themes
Geographical Theme:
- By country
- By city
- Landscape (e.g. mountains, forests, rivers, etc.)
- Languages
Societal Themes:
- Law and order
- Politics
- Religion
- Sports
- Friendship
- Dating
Seasons:
- Autumn
- Winter
- Summer
- Spring
What’s With This?
Aside from an idea that could have been a tweet instead of an article, this whole idea is based around making it easier for you to work quickly (and possibly outsource if you’re being professional.)
In the past couple of years, I’ve seen a few people go from earning no money through to earning a ton of money because they lucked into an idea and repeated it over and over.
This is where handy themes come in.
Let’s say you have a dating website. Look at the above list and see what applies:
- Religion and dating
- Friends and dating
- Dating by country
- Dating by season
And so on.
This creates an unlimited amount of content.
But Jamie… I Already Have 1000 Blog Posts So I Don’t Need More Content
I created this not as a way to come up with more blog content.
Instead, I’ve got my fiction publishing company publishing schedule to create and also another project which I’m not supposed to be doing until I have all my other work sorted.
But both of those take the theme concept and use it to create more paid products.
If you have a physical store, your themes can serve as sale ideas or collection ideas.
Or, if you release books, you can have themes, settings and characters in lists.
If you create info products… you get the picture.
Why Do This?
You do this because it makes it a lot easier and quicker to come up with stuff to work on.
Add this to an experiment list and you’ll have more ideas and more than you know what to do with.
Speaking of which, this’ll probably set the record for the shortest blog post I’ve ever made for this site, but there are more pressing matters that need attending to.
In the meantime, you can check out the archives if you’ve pencilled in some reading time for this blog.
See you in the next one.
