Easy Money by James Holt Review

If you want to make money online, there’s a good chance you’re going to fail at something that every kid has to master.

You’re going to try to run before you can walk.

Making money online is pretty tough. It’s not because the systems are overly complex: You work out what to write about, you write about it and you publish it online.

It sounds simple, and that’s what draws millions of people in, money in hand, saying, “PLEASE TEACH ME HOW TO MAKE MONEY ONLINE.”

Yet, once you’ve give your money over to the gurus at the top of the mountain, your head will be full of stuff that makes you rethink that optimistic “easy” factor.

  • You have to get an email list!
  • SEO is complicated!
  • Do you need a product?
  • What about PPC, PPV, EPC and CPM?!

With all those different letter combinations, it’s easy to lose sight of the ABC’s of making money online.

The process of making money is simple if you just stick to the basic script. That’s exactly what you should do when you’re new; leave the outsourcing, the automation and the autoresponders until after you make enough money to pay for them.

That’s what you should do. But chances are, that’s not what you’re going to do.

You’re probably not going to do that because you’re busy reading hundreds of blogs and trying to learn the next great trick to get ahead, not realising you’re a hamster on a wheel. Running a lot and getting nowhere fast.

I certainly did this. Some people spend years going around and around. Maybe they’ll make $50 from one crazy method and that’ll pay for the LIMITED TIME ONLY $49 SPECIAL that they next buy.

Don’t do this.

Build Your Foundations First

When you start taking martial arts classes, it’s boring. You enter the room thinking you’re going to be Jackie Chan, back-flipping and taking out bad guys three at a time. In reality, you spend the first six months slowly punching thin air at so slow a rate that it doesn’t even look like punching anymore.

The reason you do that is because you need to train your body to move in the right way.

Making money online is no different. You can’t skip to the Dan Kennedy “I make $100,000+ per sales letter” stage without actually learning how to find customers and how to get money from them.

Building a foundation for making money online is crucial – whether your goal is to make $10,000 a day or $1000 a month.

The basics are still the basics, and unless you can do the following, you can’t progress:

  • Researching keywords
  • Learning about buyer intent
  • Writing a decent sales letter
  • Building a passable website
  • Getting into the habit of producing content
  • Producing the right

If you can do those things, then you can make money online.  You’ll also be able to make money offline as well, but that’s a different subject.

There are two ways I recommend you start with making money online. The first is freelancing – specifically freelance writing – and the second way is by building little projects like books or niche websites.

My friend James recently released a book on the latter. It’s called Easy Money.

Readers of this site will know James – he runs the site RedPillReviews.com

This book is about all the things I’ve talked about above. It’s about building a foundation.

Easy Money By James Holt Review: The Wrong Title?

My preamble above wasn’t just because I like to type words on a screen: it’s key to understanding this book.

You see, in this book, James describes how he went from earning nothing online to earning over $15,000 to date with his niche sites.

If you follow his steps, then it’s easy money. The great thing about niche sites is that there’s very little risk – a few hours of writing articles, a couple of hours researching keywords and niche competitiveness and a few dollars a year on hosting and a domain name.

Essentially, a niche site is a weekend project.

Now, the learning curve is pretty steep. You’ll get things wrong and there’s an art to research and writing about products. This book is your learning curve though. In it, James discusses:

  • Why you should build niche sites as opposed to “general blogs”
  • How to pick what to write about
  • How to research a niche
  • Finding competitive keywords
  • Building your site
  • Outsourcing the writing and scaling up your niche sites later

In short, it’s a blueprint of all that you need to get started with writing for niche sites – and a little more.

I’d have included a section on writing a product review – maybe breaking down one of his own reviews and giving a concrete example of what a good product review looks like – but other than that, there’s not much else to it.

The question is whether the title is correct.

Are niche sites easy money?

Probably, if you’re willing to stick to the script. This book gives you it all – except maybe how to pick products. Check out this article for my advice on that. Easy Money certainly gives you more than you need as far as the bells and whistles go: There’s enough detail on SEO and Keyword Research to give you more than enough to get started with building niche sites.

If you’re willing to follow the advice, build a niche site and monitor its progress over the recommended course of six months, you don’t need much else. All that you have to do is follow the process and not get distracted by shiny techniques and tricks.

Final Thoughts

If you want a quick guide for how to best construct a niche site and deal with the technical elements, then getting Easy Money is a no-brainer. I’m not even saying that for the sake of commissions or anything: It costs less than $3 and it’s even available (somewhat inexplicably!) on Kindle Unlimited.

$3 for what amounts to a guide on making profitable niche sites is basically free.

Like I said though; how valuable you’ll find it depends on whether you can sit down and do what’s in it. If you can, then there’s no secret reason you won’t be able to build websites that can generate more than $100 a month with very little commitment. If you can’t… well, you can. You just have to stick to the script like I said above.

P.S. It’s sixty pages of content. That means you can read through the whole thing in its entirety like I did this afternoon and wake up tomorrow morning knowing everything you need to get started with building niche sites.
