One Month Of The Jamie McSloy Newsletter

This time last month, I started a monthly newsletter.

It’s been a pretty big success in my opinion. Most internet marketers would disagree though – and that’s why I think it’s great.

I don’t have many subscribers, and that’s the reason most list-building gurus would hate it.

I prefer it like that – because I’m not making any money from the list. I don’t even plan to in the near future.

So Wait… You Don’t Have Many Subscribers And You’re Not Making Any Money From It! How Is That A Success?

I received and answered sixteen emails in the first month, and gave personalised advice to everyone who emailed.

When I asked if I could use the questions as material for future blog posts, everyone said that I could.

That’s several weeks’ worth of blog articles.

(By the way – those first answers will be coming in February. Bizarrely, I’ve managed to set and keep to a schedule for this site in 2017 thus far, so we’re running on a surplus.)

Also, words of thanks from people. I appreciate it all and I’m glad to help you guys. It’s one of the best things about writing a blog. (It sure isn’t the Amazon pay-outs… Jesus Christ those figures are annoying.)

Finally… I’m still glad that my readers are almost universally great readers. Especially guys on the mailing list; all the emails have been polite, friendly and people have given me ideas and other stuff as much as I’ve helped them. It’s all a fantastic contrast with the idiot commenters I see littering other people’s blogs.

You guys are awesome.

What Did You Even Email About?

I sent out four emails last month… if you’re a subscriber, you should have received the last one at precisely the time this article went live.

It was about why you need to learn copywriting from an angle that nobody really talks about. I also included a tiny hint of a business idea based on something that worked in the past but just isn’t done any more.

Before that, I had a two-part series on setting and keeping habits going. That’s crucial because there’s no point in learning stuff if you’re not going to have the discipline to put it into practice.

The third email was about guys who want to travel the world and get paid for it. It was about ideas you could have that were immensely more profitable than the average lifestyle blogger/travel writer thinks of. There were four business ideas in there; and you could apply the knowledge to countless other ideas.

Who knows what’ll happen next month?

You’re Missing Out

Here’s the kicker. I’ve been blogging every single day for over a year now. I enjoy it and there’s no burden on my readers to do anything for these blog posts. However the email list, The Island and a few more future developments are a bit different.

I can’t just keep giving away stuff for free, and while I’ve no intention to charge people for the ramblings here, it’s all part of a concerted effort to build a few walls around the garden, so to speak.

Essentially, if you want even more cool stuff delivered right onto your computer or mobile device, you have to give up that email address folks.

By the way… I’m not working with an auto-responder and I’m not planning the email list weeks I advance. It comes as and when I’m inspired.

What that means for those of you who are on the fence is this: Once an email is sent, it’s gone.

The emails I’ve described above are probably not going to be available anywhere else in the near future. (Scratch that… one of them is up on The Island, but that’s even more of a walled garden.)

If you don’t subscribe before the next email goes out, my next business idea is probably going to pass you by too.

Having said that… the choice is yours.
